An attack, in prose and verse, upon the model sermon preached by Suaso, Archdeacon of the Mexico City Cathedral, on Feb. 2, 1703; ascribed on t.p. to Santiago de Henares, but containing a statement near the end which names as authors Avendaño and one or more collaborators. Except for the transposition of certain opening and closing verses and the addition of the authorship statement, this ms. is substantially identical with item 2 of "Varios papeles ..." (M-M 255); for Suaso's sermon, see item 1 of "Varios papeles ..."

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
